Infinity Nikki Reveals Future Story and Gameplay Plans

Infinity Nikki has revealed details about what players can expect to see in the future, including a new region called Elderwood Forest and its city of Spira, as well as a cooking system tied to housing. With Version 1.7 coming to a close, Infinity Nikki has assembled its second Miraland Roundtable, a platform for the developers to address player feedback. It was primarily made in the wake of Version 1.5 and its disastrous launch, but in the past three months, Infinity Nikki has only published two Roundtable discussions.

While a sizable number of Infinity Nikki players remain frustrated by the silence from Infold, Version 1.7 was seen by many as a step in the right direction for the game. Fans praised its darker and more mature story, comparing it to the quality of the franchise’s earlier titles. Version 1.8 is now set to add a new zone to Infinity Nikki, and Version 1.9 will see the introduction of housing. However, Infold has decided to share what players can expect after Version 1.9 in the latest Miraland Roundtable.

Perhaps the key details from the Roundtable discussion concern the next region of Infinity Nikki. In Version 2.0, players will get to explore the Elderwood Forest, a mystical mushroom realm that holds the city of Spira – built into the shell of a colossal snail. Whereas Wishfield leaned into a rustic aesthetic, Elderwood is expected to dive more deeply into the fantastical aspects of Miraland. The Roundtable also revealed that Version 1.10 and Version 1.11 would feature “familiar friends” in the story, hopefully hinting at the return of fan favorites such as Giovanni, Tan, or Bettina.

Infinity Nikki Teases Upcoming Features and Improvements

In terms of upcoming gameplay improvements, players will be able to dye non-set 5-Star pieces in Version 1.11. However, much to the disappointment of the Infinity Nikki community, the Roundtable made no mention of any plans to address the criticisms of the dye system and its monetization. The Wardrobe feature in Infinity Nikki will be further optimized in the coming updates, as players will now be able to consolidate Evolutions into a single slot.

As for new features, Infold also announced that the housing system in Infinity Nikki would feature cooking. Players will be able to display dishes in their home, use them as housing currency, or even share them with friends. It remains to be seen what kind of benefits each dish will provide, but Infold hints that Version 1.9 will come with plenty of cooking recipes. While the dye system and the story retcon of Version 1.5 still remain unaddressed, Infinity Nikki has managed to avoid sparking any major controversy since Version 1.6 launched. The community hopes that Version 1.8 and beyond will continue the trend.
